Matador
For a 2007 exhibition at the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans, I created this 30 foot, 2 sided drawing. It was hung in a horseshoe shape in the oval gallery, suspended by an elaborate system of wires and weights (I realized after I proposed the project that there was no ceiling!). I worked the front with graphite and embroidery. I then worked with the backside of the embroidery to create an alternative narrative on the back (or inside) of the piece. The piece can be read as a continuous narrative on the outside, but the interior is more fractured and random.
